Members from Sharpstown Baptist Church traveled to the Dominican Republic in August for a mission trip. They arrived in Santo Domingo at 11:00 pm and drove three hours to La Romana. While there, the team finished a playground that was begun by another church, spent some time with boys from an orphanage and led a two day Vacation Bible School at a local church. They were also able to make contact with a church that many from the team worked on two years ago.
After the ministry at La Romana, the group returned to Santo Domingo and painted the inside and outside of a school for special needs children.
This ministry was a partnership with the ministry of South Texas Children’s Home Ministry located in Corpus Christi. This is a ministry that is operated through the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
